BPT’s commitment to sustainable development is reflected in our continuous efforts in the field of research and development. Our goal is ongoing improvement and optimization of product and process technologies, based on environmental and economic standards.
Our strong R&D team brings more than 30 years of industry experience and engineering expertise to the development of nanofiltration membranes and membrane-based systems for the treatment of water and industrial streams. Our solutions serve a wide variety of industries and applications, including food and beverage, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
Our multidisciplinary team includes five PhDs and a staff of world-class engineers with expertise in the following disciplines: • Organic and polymer synthesis • Inorganic chemistry • Membrane science • Biological sciences
In the last five years, we have participated as active members in the following international and national R&D programs: • RENOMEM • Compose • Nano-Pro • MEDRC • Water Commissioner projects
Our internal R&D programs currently underway include:
• A revolutionary membrane approach for performing municipal wastewater recovery in a single step (combining RO & UF functionality in a single element)
• A new family of hybrid ceramic polymeric membranes (HCPMs) for efficient treatment of very aggressive materials in extremely aggressive environments
• A new system based on our unique bio-separation technology for allowing quick (2-4 hour) identification of all viruses in fluids |
